What "trusted dealer" actually means
"Trusted dealer", TD for short, is a status handed out by the long-running replica forums (RWI, RWG, RepGeek). It goes to sellers the moderators have vetted, who keep a public subforum there and deal with complaints in the open. That's all it is. There's no certification body behind it, and no escrow or refund fund either.
What you actually get:
- A public record. Every sale thread, QC post and complaint about the dealer is searchable. Patterns show up.
- Something to lose. A dealer who ignores a buyer risks losing status, and status is worth far more than one order. That's why TDs fix problems a random site would ignore.
- A stable identity. Domains come and go. The forum account stays, and when a TD moves domains the forum announces it.
What you don't get:
- Any promise about price or speed, or that they stock what you want.
- Your money back from the forum. Forums mediate. They don't pay out.
- Any assurance that a site claiming TD status has it. Look-alike domains copy the names. Reach a dealer through a forum link or the domain listed on the forum, never through a search result.
Each forum keeps its own list and they don't fully overlap. A dealer trusted on two or more forums for several years is the strongest signal this market has, and it's the gate for Tier 1 here.
