A dealer says they have a new domain. How to verify it
Dealers lose domains to registrars, hosts and seizures, and over a long enough run a dealer moves several times. Scammers know buyers expect it. "We've moved to a new address" is the most common opening line of a fake.
Check one, the forum. A real move gets announced in the dealer's own subforum on RWI or RWG, usually pinned. No announcement there means the move hasn't happened yet, whatever the email says.
Check two, this index. The domain check tells you whether an address is the current domain on record, a retired one, or unknown. We update from the forums monthly and from verified claims in between. A brand-new domain can sit at unknown for a short while, and that's the moment to go back to check one.
Check three, the message. Real moves are announced in public. They don't arrive by unsolicited email or DM with a discount attached and a link to click. That one's a phish.
Every dealer page here has a domain history table with first-archived dates. If the "new" domain was first archived three years ago under different content, someone is borrowing the dealer's name.
